Pay attention to yer Greek

Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honour the emperor. —1 Peter 2:17, NIV

So we are supposed to ‘show proper respect to everyone’ and ‘honour the king’? Except that in Greek it is Exactly The Same Word. Pretty much every other translations translates both instances the same, usually honour, sometimes respect. What’s up, NIV? Why do you think the government is all special?
